What is it about the disco era that we find so cool? Is it the big hair? Roller rinks? The shimmery disco balls? The music? Gloria Gaynor singing ‘I will Survive’, KC and the Sunshine Band with ‘That’s the Way (I Like it), and the one that gets everyone on their feet, hands in the air: ‘YMCA’ by The Village People.Or, maybe, it was the clothes. The loose flowing shirts and the layers and layers of gold necklaces. The platform shoes. We all want to capture some of the fun and energy that embodied disco.
