Theme Halloween Costumes
We weren’t really around in the 70s, but we’re sure they were an amazing time. You don’t just go into a decade and then come out with words like “groovy” or “far out,” and not be having the time of your life the whole way through. Everybody tells us that there was this thing called “Disco” during that time as well. It was some ancient dance ritual that died out along with the decade. We sure wish we could have been there to see it. For all of the fast paced adventure out there in the discos though, they didn’t seem to have to be anywhere soon. The speed limit on US highways was actually lowered to 55 miles per hour! Can you imagine the length of time it would take to get anywhere? Maybe it was more about the journey than the destination back then. That or they were too tired out from a night of dancing to be able to move any faster. You know what wasn’t moving very slowly though? Fashion. It was hurtling through the markets faster than the autobahn of Europe. We could finally say goodbye to the terribly uncomfortable PVC clothing (especially the box dresses) and jump straight into putting as many different patterns on clothing as possible, all the while not really caring what color they happened to be.Take this wonderful costume for example. We’ve crammed more patterns into this wonderful shirt and sweater vest combo than a shag carpet factory. Throw on those fantastic bell bottoms and you’re sure to be called a VERY handsome young man (even if it’s only by your grandmother.)
